Professional skills management in challenging times
Professional skills management in challenging times
How do you maintain staff morale and deliver high-performing services and transformational change when the economic squeeze is on? In the current economic environment it is essential that the ICT service is not only effective, but is streamlined and efficient, not to mention focused on enabling the accelerating rate of change necessary to ensure the survival of public services. This course covers best practice in staff and skills management when budget and headcount reductions mean delivering more services and a changing mix of skills with fewer people in shared or merging organisations.
The professional implementation of IT-enabled change is at the heart of the efficiency and transformation programmes in all parts of government in the UK. Effective skills management drives performance improvement in delivery of business change projects and in day-to-day service management in all parts of government, affecting every person involved in delivering successful IT services in government. All most admirable, but when the squeeze is on, this is the part of the IT service that is most vulnerable.
Mary Wintershausen's course looks at the use of the Skills Framework for the Information Age, SFIA, in maintaining service levels, delivering performance improvement, and supporting the morale of individuals and teams through major change and uncertainty in their working environment.
